MOONFLOWER

That is a Datura, not really a real "moon flower" (which is a night blooming form of morning glory). There are various types of Datura but all bloom only at night and all are very, very toxic. Be careful with this plant, children and pets should be watched closely. Wonderful, almost intoxicating fragrance. Teenagers with nothing to do may attempt to steal the seed pods because some think the toxic affects of the seeds is fun. They usually end up in hospital having their stumachs pumped.

Enjoy the wonderful plant that is Datura though, the negative aspects are pretty easy to deal with. If you like the sent of that one (Datura Alba) try Datura Metel for an even more fragrant version.

Yours,
James

Sorry, just noticed the purple margin that I thought was a lighting thing may be on the plant, in which case that is Datura Metel, not Datura Innoxia (Alba).

Sorry about any confusion I may have caused, without seeing the backside of the bloom it is difficult to tell a Metel from an Inoxia. I grow a few types and Metel (doubles if available) are my favourite. They also tend not to self seed as much as the others :(

Yours,
James
